Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
Crimson City Electric wants everyone to be able to find our contact details, read about our work, and request an estimate, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We treat the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target standard for this website, and we fix problems as we find them or as they are reported.
Measures We Take
- Pages are built from semantic HTML with a main landmark, a navigation landmark and a footer, and the page language is declared as English.
- Navigation and calls to action are real links and buttons, so they are reachable and operable with a keyboard in reading order. Icon-only controls, such as the mobile menu button and the social profile links, carry accessible names.
- We do not suppress the browser's own focus indicator on links, buttons or navigation, so a keyboard user can see which control is focused.
- Every image carries an alt attribute. Purely decorative images use an empty one so screen readers skip them rather than announcing filenames.
- Every estimate and contact form field has a visible label programmatically linked to its input.
- Frequently asked questions expand and collapse using the browser's native disclosure element, so they work with a keyboard and are announced by screen readers.
- Body text sits at roughly 6.8 to 1 contrast against the page background and headings are lighter still, above the 4.5 to 1 minimum WCAG sets for normal text.
- Animation and transitions are reduced site-wide for visitors whose system prefers reduced motion.
Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: some parts of the content do not fully meet the standard. The site has not been independently audited or certified, and the limitations below are the gaps we currently know about.
Feedback
If you hit a barrier on this website, or you need information from it in another format, please tell us. Email crimsoncityelectric@gmail.com or call 425-648-7953. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will respond within three business days. If we cannot fix it quickly, we will give you the information you were after by phone or email in the meantime.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of this website relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA attributes where a native HTML element is not enough, and on those technologies being supported by your browser and assistive technology.
Limitations
We would rather name these than claim they do not exist:
- Form focus indicator. The fields on our estimate and contact forms remove the browser's default focus outline and replace it with a low-opacity ring and a border colour change. That is a weaker indicator than the browser's, and it is on our list to correct.
- No skip link. There is currently no "skip to main content" link, so a keyboard or screen reader user has to move through the header and navigation on each page first.
- Content that needs JavaScript. Some sections reveal themselves as you scroll and the FAQ answers open using a script. With JavaScript turned off, that content may not be visible.
- Embedded Google Map. The map on our contact and service area sections is an embedded Google Maps frame. Its markup and keyboard behaviour are controlled by Google, not by us, and it only loads when JavaScript is available. Our full address is written out as text in the footer of every page.
- Links to other sites. Links to our Google Business Profile reviews and our Facebook page lead to websites we do not control and cannot make accessible.
